Bios of significant figures within the Corsobar main tree trunk:

House Founder: Aroghetto Corsobar (b. 784 - d. 835):

Married Leora Roccini and had five children. Was granted the Duchy after exposing a grand assassination plot against the then Queen and two other Altaran Houses. The lands of the House behind it were granted to Aroghetto in addition to some lands of the crown and lands of the two other Houses. Having come from guardsman lineage, it took Leora's keen wit to keep the house financially sound and profitable during that time.

Duke Bernardo Corsobar (b. 809 - d. 854):

First son and heir to Aroghetto. Married Lady Fausta Ortise. Had three children, the youngest born a year before Aroghetto died. Held the House for another twenty years.

Duke Salvatore Corsobar (b. 832 - d. 869):

Though not the first born and thereby original heir, the Seat of the House fell on Salvatore after his older sister was killed in a duel. He took over the House when his father, Bernardo, died in 854. He married Lady Elenora Cappriccio and had four children.

Duchess Isabella Corsobar (b. 853 - d. 911):

Salvatore's first born lived a long but crippled life. She was unable to stand and confined to sedans as her only method of travel, and otherwise sedentary for all of her life. Though some saw this as a handicap, Isabella honed her skills in political intrigue and business and brought the Corsobar House into the glory and prestige it now holds. She never married, and never had any children, so the Seat went onto her nephew.

Duke Romano Corsobar (b. 882 - d. 936):

His father, Lorenzo (Isabella's younger brother), was killed in a duel when Romano was only three years old. When Isabella past away, the Duchy fell to Romano. He was twenty-nine and was practically inheriting an empire, considering the extensive political fruits yielded from the labor of his aunt's leadership. Fortunately, it was determined early enough in his life that he was the heir and Isabella and his mother influenced his training and upbringing such that when the day would come that he would take over Corsobar, he would do so with a wrinkle free transition and not make a disaster of the House. He married Lady Teresina Guatelupe and had two sons of his own before Isabella died and he took the Seat.

Lord Cecilio Corsobar (b. 906 - d. 935):

Romano's oldest son and family never saw the day when Romano died, and never saw Cecilio take the Seat as was due him. Lulled into an outing on an unsea-worthy ship into the Sea of Storms, Cecilio, his wife Regina and all his children were killed when the ship sunk. The second son, Orlando, was the one behind the scheme and after some investigation, Fabrizio, Orlando's younger brother, discovered the assassination plot and challenged Orlando. The duel ended with the death of Orlando, and Fabrizio took the House Seat when his father Romano died of a lengthy illness five months later.

Duke Fabrizio Corsobar (b. 913 - d. 969):

Though the circumstances surrounding the deaths of his two older brothers were traumatic, the rest of Fabrizio's life was fairly uneventful save for the White Cloak War and Illian's involvement in 957. Corsobar's land borders Illian and so it was Corsobar and the crown that was instrumental in Illian's protection of Altara from Amadicia. Some suggest both legitimate and uncooth means secured Illian's protection, and when tensions ceased and several financial, political and social ties were made with some of Illian's Houses on that same border, and the Laurel Crown itself, its no wonder why. Additionally, a number of nobles from lesser branches of Corsobar were married into noble houses of Illian and vice-versa, creating ties even on that level. Fabrizio and his wife Violetta had three children, which the first two they named after his brother Cecilio and his wife Regina, in their honor and memory. At one point in his career, when the Throne of Winds was vacant, Fabrizio was offered it, but turned it down--knowing that such a step would only serve to lead to Corsobar's eventual downfall.

Duchess Regina Corsobar (b. 940 - d. 998):

Regina was told about the aunt she had been named after from an early age. The story of her kins' violent ends played and replayed in the imagination of the young Corsobar to such an extent that when she was finally of duelling age, she committed herself to learn as much about defending herself both physically, politically, and socially, as she possibly could. That strong devotion to personal training lasted only so long until she fell in love with her duelling trainer, Valentino Madelle. The courtship began with Fabrizio's reluctant agreement. When they were married, he was bestowed the title of Lord, and accepted into the Corsobar family despite his commoner lineage. Once married, Regina concerned herself more with propagating the family than personal training, though she and her husband could still be found on the practice fields on occasion. Valentino and Regina had six children, and the House continued to prosper under Regina's leadership as it had before under other Corsobars. The only time of strife in the House was during the Aiel War, when casualties were high and Lord Valentino lost his life in the battlefield amongst other nobles from his country and his retainers. Regina recently died in 998 and the House Seat was given to her first born, Benito.

Duke Benito Corsobar (*NPC*) (b. 960 - still living):

Unlike his mother, Benito fell in love with another Altaran noble, Lady Octavia Milliardo, and their courtship was not only approved but encouraged by her family, who's power and influence paled in comparison to Corsobar. For the Milliardo's this was a step up, though Octavia returned Benito's affections without the lust for power and prestige that her parents sought. They had several children. The heiress is Caprice. Though recently taking over the House Seat after his mother's death, Benito continues to further Corsobar's prosperity on all accounts.

Heiress, Lady Caprice Corsobar (PC) (b. 984 - still living):

Still young and impressionable, Caprice was sent to Patreine's Salon in Tar Valon--a finishing school for ladies--and later directed by her father, the Duke, to establish a branch in Tar Valon in association with The House of the Golden Goblet. It is assumed that the Duke's interest in having more House involvement in that region was sparked by the events surrounding the rise and fall of the False Dragon, Dain.
